Scams that come with a face
Seller or landlord
They want a deposit before you have seen the item or the place.
Recruiter or “mentor”
A job offer or crypto coach asks you to pay or invest first.
A romantic match
Someone you’ve never met asks for money or gift cards.
A quick check for any scam
No tool can promise someone is honest. These checks take a few minutes and stop most problems.
How do I check if someone is a scammer?
- Pause. Pressure to act fast is the most common tactic, and it is meant to stop you checking.
- Search their photo here to see where else that face appears.
- Check that the name, job and location match across the results.
- Ask for a live video call or a meeting in a public place.
- Pay only by methods that offer protection. Avoid gift cards, wires and crypto.
What are the red flags by situation?
- Seller: price far below market, refusing to meet, asking you to pay outside the platform.
- Landlord: they are “abroad”, send keys by mail after a deposit, and have no viewing.
- Recruiter: a job offer with no interview, asking for fees or your bank details.
- Crypto mentor: guaranteed returns, private groups and pressure to deposit.
- Online match: love fast, money soon, no video call.
What does a photo search show?
A photo search shows public pages where a similar face appears. A stock photo, or the same face under several names, is a strong warning. Check each result’s link and read the page before you draw a conclusion. A single clean match with consistent details is reassuring but doesn’t prove anything.
Where do I report a scam?
In the US, report at reportfraud.ftc.gov and the FBI’s IC3 at ic3.gov. Tell your bank or payment app right away if you paid, and use the platform’s report tool on the profile or listing.

Questions
Can I search a photo from a marketplace listing?
Yes, if it shows a person’s face. Save a clear image of the face and upload it. We search public web pages, not inside private apps or accounts.
What if there are no matches?
It doesn’t clear them. New or private photos won’t appear, so rely on the other checks too. You get a free search back.
Does this prove someone is a scammer?
No. It shows where a similar face appears online. Use it as one clue, together with their behavior.
How does it work?
You upload a photo, and we search publicly available web pages for the same face. Your first preview is free and shows how many matches there are. After that, each search costs one search and shows every match with its link.
What does it cost?
Your first preview is free. Then it’s $4.99 per search, 3 searches for $9.99, or 10 for $19.99. One-time payments, no subscription. If a search finds nothing (no matches, or no clear face), you get a free search back on your account.
How accurate are the results?
Each match shows a similarity score. A high score means a very similar face, not a confirmed identity, so always verify before you act.
Do you store my photo?
Your full photo never leaves your device: only a crop around the face is sent, securely, to our search partner. We keep that crop with your private results so you can see which face was searched, and delete both after 48 hours.
