Tinder doesn’t let you download photos, and it isn’t publicly searchable. A screenshot is the way in.

How do you screenshot a Tinder profile photo?

  1. Open the match’s profile and swipe to the photo with the clearest face.
  2. Take a screenshot with your phone’s usual shortcut.
  3. Open the screenshot in your photos app and crop to the face.
  4. Leave out Tinder’s buttons, text and other people.
  5. Upload the cropped image. Repeat with a second photo if you can.
  6. Compare the results. A real person usually shows consistent matches across photos.

Why won’t Tinder itself show up in results?

Tinder profiles aren’t on the public web. We search public pages instead, such as Instagram, news sites and stock photo libraries. If the same face appears there under a different name, that’s the warning sign.

What are the Tinder-specific red flags?

How do you report or unmatch a fake profile?

In Tinder, you can unmatch from the chat or profile and report the person from there. Look for the report option in the profile or chat menu. Menu names change, so check the app. Keep your screenshots before you unmatch, since the chat disappears from your view. Tinder also has photo verification, but a badge isn’t a guarantee.
