Can you search for someone on Hinge or Bumble?
No. Hinge, Bumble and Facebook Dating have no search by name, number or email, and none of them publish profiles on the web. What you can check is where a person’s photos appear publicly, and whether what you find still fits.
Can you search for someone on Hinge?
No. Hinge shows you people one at a time, based on your preferences and location, and there is no way to look someone up. It also leans toward people with mutual connections, but it never tells you who is on the app.
Hinge profiles aren’t on the public web either, so a Google search for someone’s name won’t surface one.
Can you search for someone on Bumble?
No. Bumble has no people search and no public profile pages. You only see people who fit your filters and distance, in an order you don’t choose.
Bumble’s photo verification badge does tell you something useful once you match: that person has taken a live selfie matching their photos.
How to tell if someone is on Facebook Dating
You usually can’t. Facebook Dating is a separate profile inside the Facebook app, it isn’t shown on anyone’s main profile, and by default it doesn’t suggest you to your Facebook friends.
The one exception is Secret Crush, where each person picks Facebook friends they’re interested in, and only a mutual pick is revealed. Nothing in Facebook Dating lets you check whether a specific person has a profile.
What you can check instead
- Where their photos appear on the public web, with a face search.
- Public dating sites, which do publish profiles that search engines and face searches can see.
- Social accounts under a nickname or second name.
- Old reposts, forums and scam-warning pages that reuse the same pictures.
An empty result can’t rule out an app profile. Most people on Hinge or Bumble have no public dating page at all.
If you’re checking a new match
That question has better answers. Look for the app’s verification badge, ask for a short video call, and search the photos they use to see if they belong to someone else. The dating match check walks through it.
If you’re worried about a partner
A search won’t give you certainty. Profiles are often left behind long after someone stops using an app, and lookalikes show up in any result.
If something you find worries you, talk to them directly. And if someone has ended contact with you, leave it there; our rules don’t allow searching to keep tabs on anyone.
